Talking About CF
Talking about problems and challenges may help you cope with them. The same is true with CF. Depending on who you’re talking to, you may need to make sure they know certain things about CF.
Here are some considerations to bring up with the important people in your life:
Family
Make sure siblings understand what CF means
Educate extended family about CF
Friends
Organize a presentation for your child’s class, troop or team about CF
Tell your friends about your child’s CF. Don’t be embarrassed if you need help, like switching a carpool pick up so you can take your child to the doctor
School
Talk to your child’s school at the beginning of each school year. You can find more information by clicking here.
Employers
Learn about your child’s rights if they decide to get a part-time job. You can find more information by clicking here.
Be sure to check the Resources and Links section of CF Living to find other websites that may provide you with more info.
