Managing Family Activities
Chronic illness doesn’t just affect the person that has it. Often, siblings and caregivers can feel the stress of life with CF too. By focusing on how other members of the family feel individually, you can get everybody ready to come together for quality time.
Siblings
Siblings may feel left out, and later may feel guilty at any bad feelings they have toward their sick brother or sister. Try to make time to focus on each of your children separately.
Caregivers
Caring for a child with a chronic disease can be challenging. Try and make time for yourself to help cope with stress.
Come together
When life is busy, you may have to schedule time together. Plan to do an activity your family enjoys and stick to it. Bringing your family together for the good times will help everyone cope with the difficult times.
