Take Charge of Treatment
You’re getting older and that means you may be learning how to be in charge of your own prescribed treatment. Right now, you could be starting to take on more responsibilities. Taking on one new thing at a time might make it easier.
Keeping up with your prescribed treatment is important, and you might have a hard time finding the time to fit it all in. It's really important for you to follow the plan your doctor has prescribed. It's possible that skipping treatment may lead to problems later on. That’s because CF is progressive, which means it gets worse over time. Stay on top of your treatment as prescribed by your doctor so you keep yourself as healthy as possible.
Sometimes, learning about CF and how treatments work can help you stay motivated. The Pulmozyme web site has a lot of helpful videos that explain complicated things in an easy way. Check out these videos to understand what's happening in your body.
If you’re taking Pulmozyme, remember that you need to take it once a day. If you use a nebulizer, it's good to know that they’re not all the same. Some will make treatment go a little quicker, and some might have different cleaning directions. You should ask your CF Care Team to explain which is the most appropriate for your prescribed treatment as approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Indication and Usage
Daily administration of Pulmozyme® (dornase alfa) Inhalation Solution along with standard therapies is indicated in the management of cystic fibrosis patients to improve lung function. In patients with a forced vital capacity (volume of air exhaled with maximum effort and speed) greater than or equal to 40% of predicted, daily administration of Pulmozyme has also been shown to reduce the risk of respiratory tract infections requiring the administration of injectable antibiotics. In our pivotal study, safety and efficacy of daily administration has not been studied in patients beyond 12 months.
